Gojira's last release was in 2016
Joseph Duplantier , vocalist of Gojira , spoke to Metal Injection about the band's upcoming album, the successor to Magma , released in 2016.
“We started writing new things a year ago,” he said. “Seven months ago we started playing, especially my brother, Mario Duplantier , and I. […] It turns out we’re going a little deeper into songwriting. […] Normally we write 12 songs, record and release all 12. Now, it seems we’re going to compose 100 songs. It’s a different and fun approach.”
The band's latest album received Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance for the song "Silvera".
