Gojira 's return with new music is in full swing! After announcing their new album, Fortitude , and releasing the first single , the French band reveals their next single: "Amazonia".
The song is a protest against the destruction of the Amazon rainforest and in defense of the demarcation of indigenous lands, featuring scenes of a protest at the Palácio do Planalto in Brasília, as well as powerful images of the forest in flames. The scenes were taken from the documentary Híbridos: Os Espíritos do Brasil and the independent media outlet Mídia Ninja .
“Amazonia” is part of Fortitude , the band's first album of new material in four years. The project will be released on April 16, 2021; see the cover and tracklist below.
