Godsmack has released the video for the track “Unforgettable,” which is part of their 2018 album, When Legends Rise .
The music video, however, is not a traditional one. The band invited around 400 music students to participate in the recording; these same young people provided backing vocals for the song while it was being produced.
Godsmack's vocalist, Sully Erna , is aware that they are not the first band to invite young people to participate in music videos; however, for the musician, the significance of this participation is both political and educational.
“I wanted this video to be a strong message about music and the importance of music, and how it’s affecting future generations, and why it should be validated – and not the first thing to be cut from school systems when they’re cutting their budgets,” said Erna.
