The new work will be the group's ninth studio album

Godsmack released the single “Bulletproof” from the band's new album, When Legends Rise , their first since 1000hp (2014).

Sully Erna, the band's frontman, revealed that the new work will be more commercial but will "continue to cater to the Godsmack fanbase" without neglecting the band's growth.

It was also revealed that the group met with Sebastian Bach of Skid Row and actor Chris Jacobs for a music video for one of the group's tracks. It hasn't yet been revealed which song from the new album the video will be for, but it was directed by Troy Smith, a longtime colleague of Godsmack, and should be released soon.
