The pandemic caught everyone by surprise, and many plans had to be revised. At the beginning of the year, Godsmack thought they would spend all of 2020 on tour, but in April they had to postpone all scheduled shows due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
Now, while they are in quarantine and unable to perform, they have decided to work on upcoming releases. Vocalist Sully Erna is preparing a solo album while also planning an EP and a studio album with Godsmack.
All of this was revealed during an interview on the Appetite for Distortion with Sully Erna: “We’re getting ready to start writing songs for the Godsmack album. We’re going to try to make up to two albums, so we’ll have an EP and a studio album,” he said.
"I'm even thinking about working with my band to create some solo material. So I have a lot going on right now. It's better to stay busy than bored. Being bored brings you problems."
In addition to all that, Erna also presents a web series titled Hometown Sessions on her YouTube channel. Watch it here. Listen to the full interview on the Appetite for Distortion below.
