In their 25 years of rock, Godsmack have sold over 20 million records worldwide, been nominated for four Grammy Awards Sully Erna (vocals and guitar), Tony Rombola (guitar), Robbie Merrill (bass), and Shannon Larkin (drums).
For over two decades, Sully Erna was a drummer and played in several bands. After several setbacks, he decided to stop and make a radical change. He learned to play harmonica, piano, guitar, sing, and also finally began composing. This was in 1995, when he decided to form his own band. Two years later they recorded their first demo and had a surprising impact.
Godsmack came the following year . It immediately went five times platinum thanks to the hits: “Whatever,” “Keep Away,” “Bad Religion,” and “Voodoo.” With their second album, Awake (2000), they received their first Grammy nomination for the track “Vampires”; and the title track was used in a US Navy campaign. In 2002, they contributed to the soundtrack of the film The Scorpion King with the song “I Stand Alone,” for which they received two Grammy nominations. In 2006, they achieved gold status with IV , produced by legendary producer Andy Johns ( Led Zeppelin ), which quickly reached number one.
After signing with BMG in 2018 and releasing their seventh album *When Legends Rise* , the tracks "When Legends Rise," "Under Your Scars," "Unforgettable," and "Bulletproof" became radio hits, being the most played songs that year in the US. The following year, the band was nominated for the "Rock Song of the Year" award at the iHeart Music Awards , and the year after that for "Rock Artist of the Year" at the same awards. Godsmack was ready to start their European tour when the pandemic brought the world to a standstill in March 2020. And now they are back in full force. In October they will play 16 shows in Europe and have just added Brazil to the tour.
