Godsmack cancels show in Brazil and other dates in South America.

In a statement, the band explained that the decision was "due to the number of tickets sold."

Godsmack announced this Wednesday, the 1st, the cancellation of all shows in South America, including the only show they were scheduled to perform in Brazil, in São Paulo.

In an official statement, the band justified the cancellation of the South American Tour due to logistical issues related to ticket sales, which had already caused two postponements of the dates last year.

"With heavy hearts, we announce that Godsmack will not be able to come to South America as promised. We are truly very sad about this, as we have worked intensely for a long time to make this tour happen, but due to the number of tickets sold, it is impossible to carry it out at this time. Rest assured that we did everything to make it work, but now it is beyond our control," they explained.

With the album Lighting Up The Sky , announced as their final album, recently released, Godsmack was set to make its South American debut this year. In an interview with Wikimetal , drummer Shannon Larkin spoke about the band's long-standing passion for our country.

“We hope you know that almost everyone I know loves Brazil, we love Brazilians, the passionate people of the country. Just watching videos of bands that have played there, we realize what the audience is like and we can't wait for the show. It's so far from here, you know? And so difficult for us to get here,” he said at the time .

The production company Mercury Concerts has announced that consumers who purchased tickets can receive a credit or a refund of the amount paid, with all information about the procedure available on the Uhuu , which is responsible for ticket sales.
