Godsmack is promoting the album When Legends Rise.
Godsmack cancelled their European tour following the death of guitarist Tony Rombola . Sully Erna said in a statement:
"With my deepest regrets, and on behalf of our guitarist Tony and his wife Sue, I personally write this message to all the fans around the world to inform you that Tony and his family have suffered a loss that no parent should have to endure.".
Tony and Sue's son, Joe Fay, passed away unexpectedly last week at the age of 34. He was one of the kindest and most humble guys I've ever met. And most importantly, he was a fan. Just like all of you. He literally lived the Godsmack success through his father. He was always so excited and proud just to be around all of us, and we will all miss him deeply.
As we await more information about how this happened, we humbly ask that you respect the privacy of Tony and his family as they take time to process and heal from this.
We appreciate all your patience, prayers, and support during this difficult time. And I promise you that we are coming back stronger than ever in early 2019 and will honor all of these tour dates in Europe and around the world. So be ready!”
Godmack's tour was scheduled to begin on October 29th in Stockholm, Sweden. The band's last show was at the Aftershock Festival in the United States on the 13th of this month.
