Gloria Cavalera stated that Max Cavalera did not receive any invitation to participate in Sepultura.
Gloria used her social media on Thursday, the 26th, to refute 's recent statements Andreas Kisser, in which he claimed that Max and Iggor Cavalera were approached to participate in the final show. Through an Instagram post, she wrote [via TMDQA!]:
"To everyone out there whose butts caught fire today because of fake headlines, just so you know, nobody ever contacted me and nobody ever contacted Max. End of story. Get on with your lives."
In an interview with Metal Hammer, Andreas Kisser stated that there had been a direct attempt to contact the former members. “We’re still in the middle of preparations, but it’s going to be great. We invited the Cavalera brothers. I spoke to Iggor personally on the phone a few months ago and we started communicating. Even our managers went to talk to their team and stuff. But they don’t want to participate, and that’s fine. It’s their choice,” Kisser confessed.
Sepultura will perform their second-to-last show at Rock in Rio
Sepultura is maintaining its plans to end its activities with a special show in São Paulo, although the date is yet to be confirmed. The farewell tour, Celebrating Life Through Death, which began in 2024, marks the end of more than four decades of history for one of the most influential heavy metal bands.
Recently, Sepultura announced that their show at Rock in Rio 2026 will be the penultimate of their career. The performance is scheduled for September 5th, on the Sunset Stage. Although it's their penultimate show, Sepultura has not yet officially confirmed the details of their final performance. However, there is anticipation that the last show will take place in São Paulo, possibly in a stadium and with special appearances by musicians who have been part of the group's history, as revealed by Kisser in an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil.
