The initial stage of the disease was discovered 10 years ago.
Glenn Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 10 years ago, and it has progressed, meaning the guitarist is only able to play songs that are not too challenging.
Firepower tour will feature producer Andy Sneap on guitar. “I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour goes ahead and that I’m not leaving the band. I don’t rule out the chance to get back on stage when I feel able. So, at some point in the not-too-distant future, I’m looking forward to seeing all our wonderful Metal maniacs again ,” said Glenn.
The band said, “We’ve had the privilege of witnessing Glenn’s determination and unwavering commitment over the years, showcasing his passion and self-esteem through songwriting, recording, and performing with Judas Priest. He’s a true Metal hero! We’re not surprised by his insistence on completing the Firepower tour and thank Andy for joining us in making Glenn’s wishes a reality. As Glenn said, we can’t wait to have him with us anytime, anywhere on the road. We love you, Glenn!”
