Judas Priest also released a statement regarding the drummer

Dave Holland, former drummer for Judas Priest and Trapeze, passed away at the age of 69 in January 2018 in Spain. Following the news, members of both bands expressed their condolences.

"We have heard the news of Dave Holland's death and are very sad. Despite his actions since leaving the band, his time with us was the most productive and successful period of our career and we will miss him dearly ," Judas Priest stated.

Now it was Glenn Hughes' turn, his former Trapeze bandmate, to speak about the musician: “Dave was my first drummer in Trapeze. He was a great drummer and a great person.

“I’ve lost some Trapeze bandmates ,” he continues, “I’m the only one still here. Sure, Dave had some difficulties later in life. But I wanted to talk about how great he was to work with me.”

When Dave Holland passed away, he was living in Fonsagrada, a remote town in Spain. The musician had moved there after spending years in prison for allegedly attempting to rape a 17-year-old boy in England.

Holland has always denied the accusation, maintaining his innocence throughout.
