Iconic vocalist and bassist Glenn Hughes , known for his unmistakable voice and his time with legendary bands like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath , is back with a new solo album. Titled Chosen , the highly anticipated work will be released on September 5, 2025 by Frontiers Music Srl , marking the artist's first solo album in nine years, since Resonate (2016).

To celebrate the announcement, Hughes has already released the title track, “Chosen,” accompanied by a music video that promises to captivate fans. This release is not just a comeback, but a statement from one of rock's biggest names, who continues to explore new musical and lyrical depths.

A journey of soul and Hard Rock.

Chosen promises to be an album that reflects the soul and life experience of Glenn Hughes. The artist himself describes the songwriting process as "deeply personal," revealing that he only writes and records when he has something meaningful to say.

“While writing Chosen , I returned to my life’s drawing board, writing about the human condition, love, hope, faith, and acceptance,” says Hughes.

He emphasizes that the album is "food for the soul," an expression of gratitude and the belief that "music is healing."

This new work presents Glenn Hughes in his most "hard rockin'" form, an explosive album that showcases him at his peak, both in terms of songwriting and production.

The sound of “Chosen” is a testament to Hughes’ ability to blend elements of hard rock with his signature soul and funk, characteristics that have earned him the nickname “the voice of rock” and “ Stevie Wonder ” among white vocalists.

Legacy and notable collaborations

Born in Cannock, England, Glenn Hughes absorbed diverse musical influences from an early age, from early British hard rock and The Beatles to American soul and R&B from Motown and Stax/Volt . His career is a testament to his versatility and talent.
