Get ready for a historic night. Known as “The Voice of Rock,” the legendary Glenn Hughes returns to Brazil in November to revisit the sounds and memories of his iconic musical career. The Chosen Years will visit Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Curitiba, marking the farewell to the career of one of the genre's greatest names.
With a career spanning over five decades, Hughes revisits classics from his various phases: from Trapeze , through Deep Purple , Hughes/Thrall , Iommi/Hughes to Black Country Communion , while presenting the public with his new album Chosen , his first solo album in nine years. Released by Frontiers Music , the work brings together ten tracks that explore, with an introspective approach, themes such as the human condition, love, hope, faith and acceptance.
Glenn Hughes is one of the most unique and revered figures in rock. A British vocalist, bassist, and songwriter, he built a unique sound by fusing hard rock, soul, and funk with rare naturalness and intensity. Known as "The Voice of Rock," a title earned for his unmistakable voice, praised even by Stevie Wonder , Hughes drew inspiration from both 1960s British rock and soul music .
His talent took him from Trapeze to Deep Purple, where, alongside David Coverdale , he revitalized the band's sound with the classic "Burn" and cemented his name among the greats in the history of the genre. After Deep Purple, Hughes pursued a versatile and prolific career. He released solo albums, formed partnerships with names like Tony Iommi , Pat Thrall , and Joe Bonamassa , and was part of projects such as Black Country Communion, California Breed , and The Dead Daisies .
In recent years, he has continued to push boundaries, collaborating with Robbie Williams and Iommi on the single "Rocket" and participating in "I Wanna Play My Guitar" from the Satch Vai , with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai .
Glenn Hughes maintains a deep connection with the Brazilian public, a country that has welcomed him with open arms since 1994. And to celebrate his return to the national stage, we've prepared a list of 4 songs that can't be missing from the singer's show.
