Legendary bassist and vocalist for Deep Purple in the 1970s, Glenn Hughes is passionate about his Brazilian fans and plans to return to the country as soon as possible with The Dead Daisies .

In a conversation with Nando Machado on The Wikimetal Happy Hour , the musician made a point of expressing his heartfelt love for Brazil. “I have to say something, and I’m going to say it very slowly now. Everyone watching or listening to me right now: you need to know, Brazil, how much I love being with you,” he began. “How much I love you, how much I love singing and playing for you.”

The reason for such intense feelings is his long history with audiences here, with 40 solo shows performed in Brazil – a number higher than the number of performances in European countries such as Italy, Spain and France, according to data from Setlist.fm .

“You guys have been such big supporters of Glenn Hughes for so long. When I see a date in Brazil on the calendar, I say, ‘That’s great!’ and we talk about the shows we’re going to do,” Hughes said. “Understand that as soon as we get the green light, we’re definitely going to Brazil. My voice is your voice. You’re in my heart and soul, I sing for you and I’ve always loved going to you. Please wait for me because I really want to come back to you.”
