Glenn Hughes reveals advice he would give himself as a child

The musician emphasized the importance of not being afraid of one's own dreams and of what one loves

During an appearance on The Wikimetal Happy Hour , Glenn Hughes was asked what advice he would give to his 12-year-old self if he could meet him, and the musician's answer was both moving and quite inspiring.

“Don’t be afraid,” Hughes said. “Never be afraid of what you love. If you love something so much, you should be it, see it, feel it, smell it, act on it. Don’t be afraid of your dream . Dreams can fade, but your dream should always stay alive. Don’t be afraid to walk the path, don’t be afraid to sing your song, don’t be afraid to make that call, don’t be afraid to wait in line, don’t be afraid to do anything you love.”

During the conversation, Glenn Hughes also cited legendary duos who inspired him to pursue his dream of becoming an artist, mentioning John Lennon and Paul McCartney , and Keith Richards and Mick Jagger Beatles and the Rolling Stones respectively .

“I was a little boy in school and these four guys were so amazing. When I think back to my childhood, I watched television, the Stones and the Beatles were on, and I was an 11-year-old boy wearing shorts at school, but when I saw this kind of thing, it was my calling,” he said. “They were calling me to join them.”
