Following the death of Ginger Baker at age 80, many artists paid tribute to the Cream .
“Ginger Baker, great drummer, wild and kind guy,” Paul McCartney on Sunday. “We worked together on the Band On The Run . Sad to hear he’s gone, but his memories will never fade.”
"Very sad to hear that Ginger Baker has died. I remember playing with him very early on in Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated," tweeted Mick Jagger . "He was impetuous and an extremely talented and innovative drummer."
Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea wrote on Instagram: “His musical style was so liberating. What a radical man. Rhythms we’ve heard our whole lives, he pulled from heaven. Rest in peace Ginger Baker.”
Baker died on Sunday in a London hospital, almost two weeks after it was announced that he was "critically ill".
