Ginger Baker, drummer and founder of Cream , was hospitalized, according to a tweet written by his family on Wednesday, the 25th.

"He is hospitalized and very ill. Please pray for him tonight," the post reads. Without further information, the family did not detail the reason for the hospitalization despite questions from fans on social media.

Baker turned 80 on August 19th. In 2016 he underwent heart surgery, and months prior he had fallen at his home. We still don't know if his hospitalization is related to that accident.

The drummer founded Cream in 1966 alongside Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce , and together they released four albums, including the famous Disraeli Gears . The group disbanded two years later. Baker and Clapton did play together on a few occasions while the drummer worked on his solo career.
