The company alleges "unauthorized use" of its guitars.
According to Law360 , Gibson has filed a lawsuit against the toy brand Funko for using the design of its guitars without permission.
The lawsuit, filed in California Federal Court, alleges "repeated and unauthorized use of Funko's designs on figurines of Slash, Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley, Kirk Hammett, and James Hetfield."
Gibson, which owns all copyrights to the guitars it produces, said that in October of this year it tried to speak with Funko but the discussions were unsuccessful.
Funko is a company that has been growing since its founding in 2005 with figurines of musicians, artists, and characters from movies and TV.
