Ghost vocalist Tobias Forge admits he likes to control everything about the band

Ghost 's leader , Tobias Forge , admitted in a new interview that he likes to control the group with total power.

“I’m a dictator in the band,” he told Ultimate Guitar . “I didn’t let people participate in the writing process. For a long time, I thought it was difficult to work with me. But I realized that I can work perfectly well with people. As long as I decide whether or not I want to work with someone.”

According to Forge, “what usually happens in bands is that people want to impose their ideas. They try to force themselves into the process, and that’s not a good idea. When you have a genuine relationship with someone, and you both decide to work together, good things come out of it.”

The vocalist also confirmed that he is already composing material for Ghost's next album. “I've put together several ideas. Some segments are true songs from beginning to end. Some are just parts, like a verse and a chorus. As soon as we finish the tour, I want to get together with the producer. To make sure we have album-worthy material. That's what takes time. Writing, writing, writing and rewriting. Throwing away a song, re-recording it. Changing it. Taking the chorus of a track and moving it around,” he said.

“We’ve never been a band that improvises. We’ve never written anything with a band,” Forge said. “So instead of going somewhere with a band to improvise and rehearse, we stay in a small studio. When we’re done writing, we go to a bigger one and record. Until the last vocal note is ready, I end up changing everything all the time.”.

In 2017, Tobias Forge was sued by former bandmates.
