The Ghost vocalist spoke about writing the new album.
Tobias Forge , frontman of Ghost , had already confirmed that he is writing the band's new album. With the return of Cardinal Copia , Forge commented that the album will be darker and heavier than its predecessor, Prequelle .
The vocalist spoke about this with Revolver Magazine. “I want to make a different album from Prequelle . I want to feel the difference,” he explained. “I definitely have a heavier and darker record in mind.”
He admits that Prequelle had more "heavy ballads" and that the new one will be more similar to MelioraI , from 2015.
“I’ve always strived to write songs I haven’t written before, rather than doing something I’ve already done. I grew up with metal. It’s in my DNA, so I can easily formulate death-metal lyrics. But I prefer not to repeat myself in that.”
