Ghost released their new single “The Future Is A Foreign Land” this Friday, the 21st. To the surprise of fans, the band released an unannounced track that is part of the feature film Rite Here Rite Now .
Following the film's storyline, this is a "newly discovered track from the 1969 era," composed by the fictional character Papa Nihil , who also wrote the songs "Mary On A Cross" and "Kiss The Go-Goat," but the track had never been made available before.
Rite Here Rite Now is a concert film, being Ghost's first feature film. The film features recordings from two shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in 2023, with behind-the-scenes footage and the story of Papa Emeritus IV . At the end, the band announces its next era with the death of Sister Imperator, who we discover is the mother of Papa Emeritus IV, who assumes the position of Father Imperator.
Rite Here Rite Now premiered in cinemas worldwide last Thursday, June 20th, and continues showing on June 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Check the schedule for Brazil here.
