The new album will be released soon and will feature the new frontman
After several weeks of waiting, the Swedish band Ghost officially announced the release of their fourth studio album.
Prequelle , the successor to Meliora (2015), is scheduled to arrive on June 1st via Spinefarm/Loma Vista Recordings and will mark the debut of new frontman Cardinal Copia .
Along with the announcement, the band also released the music video for their first single, “Rats,” directed by Roboshobo. In it, Cardinal Copia appears dancing in blood-soaked streets within a post-apocalyptic atmosphere.
The album is now available for pre-order and will have a limited edition edition that includes a colored LP with exclusive artwork.
According to vocalist Tobias Forge, Cardinal “is loosely themed around the concept of death and destruction .” The previous frontman, Papa Emeritus III, was forcibly removed from the stage during the final show of the Meliora in Sweden, announcing that the band was making way for the new frontman.
