Ghost released chapter 16 of their YouTube series last Thursday, the 16th, which tells the story of the band through a dramatic and comedic lens. The new video is supposedly a farewell to Papa Emeritus IV .
“Tax Season” begins with Papa sitting on the couch playing a racing video game based on the movie Driving Miss Daisy , until Sister Imperator calls to announce a new tour show.
While they are talking, Emeritus IV is distracted by Mr. Saltarian passing through the door pushing a glass coffin. Papa asks Imperator about the coffin and she replies: “That wasn’t an old coffin… it’s a brand new additional coffin. Remember, Jesus is coming back.”
After being greeted with "Game Over" in the video game, the episode ends with the following phrase from the Clergy: "We wish to inform you that in this world nothing is certain, except death and taxes.".
Speculation is rife that something special will happen at the final shows of the North American Re-Imperatour , given that it has been announced that the use of cell phones will be prohibited. These performances, part of the second leg of the promotion for the album Impera (2022), will take place on September 11th and 12th in Los Angeles.
Ghost transforms the identity of vocalist Tobias Forge with each album. Papa Emeritus IV replaced Cardinal Copia on the album Prequelle (2018) and has had the longest tenure of any frontman .
