Ghost fans by releasing a new version of their single "Spillways" featuring none other than Joe Elliott of Def Leppard .
The original track is part of the album Impera (2022) , which was Elliott's favorite released last year. According to the vocalist, the mutual admiration between the two frontmen ended up resulting in a studio partnership that is now seeing the light of day. He also expressed his excitement as "Spillways" is his favorite song from the Ghost album.
“ Impera was my favorite album of 2022,” said Joe Elliott in a statement. “I found out that Tobias [ Forge , Ghost vocalist] is kind of a Def Leppard fan, so I guess it was inevitable that we’d hear about each other!”
"Once we were introduced to the idea of working together, everything happened organically, and I'm very excited to have sung on my favorite song from that album," he concluded.
Joe Elliott isn't the only metal veteran who has recently shown his appreciation for Ghost. In November, Rob Halford reiterated his support for Tobias Forge's band and even said that the group is necessary to "re-energize" the current rock scene.
“Ghost is an important band on many levels. Rock & roll – using the term in a very general context – needs a band like Ghost to re-energize us and bring us back to our focus,” he commented. “Tobias [Forge] meticulously created and sought, first and foremost, the musical strength of Ghost, and then the crucial visual elements, and both drew us into this world of mystery and intrigue of Emeritus.”
