Papa Emeritus I , II , and III are in the past, and now Ghost bids farewell to Cardinal Copia as they introduce their new vocalist, Papa Emeritus IV .

With each album, the band transforms the identity of vocalist Tobias Forge , who, since the release of the album Prequelle (2018), has been using the name and persona of Cardinal Copia. Last Tuesday, the 3rd, the group ended the tour with a show in Mexico City and there presented the new leader.

Papa Emeritus IV was revealed in a very dramatic way, as is always the case with Ghost, during the saxophone solo of the track "Miasma". Papa Nihil , ancestor of the other characters, died suddenly and Cardinal Copia transformed into Papa Emeritus IV, with the help of the Sisters of Sin , as Tobias and his fellow ghouls call the nuns who accompany them on stage.

Despite the change in leadership, Ghost is expected to release their next album only in 2021, when they should also announce the artistic direction they will follow. See below the video of the official presentation of Papa Emeritus IV and then some images of the frontman .
