Musician discusses visual influences

In an interview with an Australian magazine, one of the musicians from Ghost, known as Nameless Ghouls, cited the Brazilian band Sarcófago as an influence on the band's theatrical style.

When asked about the influences for the band's visual style, the member replied: “Ghost's look stems from a deep fascination with Death and Black Metal. Thrash Metal too. The darker elements of Ghost come from the early 90s Death Metal scene. The underground aspect came to us from bands like Mayhem, Sarcófago or Devil Doll.”

In the same interview, the Nameless Ghoul said that Ghost's intention is to continue delving deeper into theatrical spectacle: “This goes hand in hand with commercial success. To put on a great show, you need a large number of people. It has always been our intention to build a large audience.”
