Ghost announces its first film 'Rite Here Rite Now'

The concert film arrives in cinemas worldwide on June 20th and 22nd.

Ghost announced last Wednesday, June 1st, its first feature film. Titled Rite Here Rite Now , the film is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on June 20th and 22nd.

Directed by Alex Ross Perry ( Her Smell ) and Ghost's mastermind, Tobias Forge , the film brings together footage from the band's two sold-out shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in 2023 and follows the storylines of Ghost's long-running Chapters series.

The Swedish band released the film's teaser in early April . Now, a new press release describes the film as a pseudo-narrative-concert that “fully immerses viewers in the colorful melodrama of the much-vaunted live ritual” that is Ghost.

When Ghost signed with Loma Vista , owner and CEO Tom Whalley asked what the band's story was, and, according to Tobias Forge in a press release: [transcription via Consequence ] “He felt that telling a story was vital to engaging new fans. I said this because we were a new band and, more importantly, we were a band of unknowns, there wasn't really a compelling story to tell. Not yet, anyway. But I told him that if he wanted a story, I could invent one. This film is the result of that conversation.”

Trafalgar Releasing, which has previously worked with Metallica , will handle the theatrical distribution of Rite Here Rite Now . The full trailer and tickets will be available next Thursday, May 9th, along with worldwide screening details and ticket links. You can follow the updates on this website .
