Formed in Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States, the band TURNSTILE already has five EPs and three studio albums in its 13-year career. The band's third album, GLOW ON, was released in 2021 and was very well received by critics and fans alike.
The group, which is now preparing to come to Brazil in April, released its first full-length album in 2015, Nonstop Feeling . The work was a great success for the Americans' career, opening doors for them to tour with other bands in the genre such as Superheaven and New Found Glory.
Then came Time & Space in 2018, the album that made the band impossible to ignore. Working with all the elements of hardcore, but at the same time deconstructing its essence, the group surprised the industry and fans alike.
GLOW ON has been considered one of the most important albums in the genre, as it broke several barriers and created elements that work perfectly with the violence, naturalness, and popularity of other genres such as indie rock, grunge, pop rock, and dream pop.
The context of GLOW ON is important to understand how it was received by critics and fans. The world was beginning to open up again after the Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, people were returning to the streets, wanting to make up for lost time, to see friends and family again. With a painful sincerity, GLOW ON came during this period when people were asking for something visceral.
Now, fans in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo will be able to see all this originality and violence live at the shows on April 15th at Sacadura and on April 16th at Tokio Marine Hall.
