Get The Shot reflects on the worst of humanity in new album 'Merciless Destruction'

Hardcore band brings deep death metal influences to the album

Get The Shot released their new album Merciless Destruction , their fourth studio album, last Friday, the 7th. On the album, the band explores philosophy and the worst traits of humanity with heaviness and violence.

For the new project, the band incorporated elements of death metal and beatdown, showcasing their constant search for new territories in extreme music while maintaining their roots and fierce approach that made Get The Shot an important name in the Quebec hardcore scene.

In a press release, the band described Merciless Destruction as their "heaviest and most dangerous album," with lyrics that express two heavy feelings that are well demonstrated by the sound of exploding suppressed emotions.

The new album is fueled by anguish and hatred against despicable forms of humanity, with profound reflections such as the observations of Thomas Hobbes ("Man is wolf to man") and Arthur Schopenhauer on the brutality of human existence in "Survival Denied," Nietzsche 's concept of resentment in "Deathbound," and an anthem for disillusioned youth facing oppression, guided by Theodor Adorno about life in "Divination of Doom ," to mention a few of the journeys proposed on the album.

The band has already performed on international stages such as Hellfest, Jera On Air, Summerbreeze Open Air and Groezrock , committed to authenticity, integrity and equality at the heart of the hardcore movement, with explosive shows and physical contact with the audience.

Get The Shot is made up of Tom Chiasson (guitar), David St-Pierre (drums), Jean-Philippe Lagacé (vocals), Dany Roberge (bass, vocals) and Guy-Pierre Genest (guitar).
