Recently, Get The Shot – great pioneers of the Quebec hardcore scene – released their new single “ Deathbound ”, which is this week's recommendation from Wikimetal .
The hard-hitting track features Rob Watson from Lionheart and speaks of revenge and anger, drawing inspiration from philosopher Nietzsche of resentment. The song was released alongside a striking music video depicting an executioner taking down condemned prisoners based on tarot cards.
“'Deathbound' is our primal response to years of accumulated hatred and anger against the injustices of humanity that have crossed our path,” says vocalist JP Lagacé . “After more than a decade as a band, we’ve lived our fair share of disappointment and betrayal. Now is the time for reckoning, to make the scum of the earth fear again.”
He continues, “Nietzsche once said that nothing in life consumes a man more quickly than the passion of resentment. Well, this song is all about revenge and is nothing more than a cathartic attempt to make sense of this anger while transforming it into self-relevant power instead of decadent weakness.”.
