George Harrison 's childhood home in Liverpool is going up for auction. The residence was also where he, John Lennon , and Paul McCartney rehearsed as teenagers.
The guitarist moved with his family to this house, at 25 Upton Green, in 1949 when he was only six years old. Later, the house became known as the rehearsal space for the Beatles when they were still called The Quarrymen . At the time, they were teenagers.
The Harrison family left the property in 1962, when the Beatles began to achieve international success. In 2014, the house was bought by a Beatles fan for £156,000 – one million and one hundred thousand reais at the current exchange rate – and is now available at auction through Paul Fairweather . The starting price for the auction is £160,000. The sale will run until November 30th – see more information here.
In August of this year, a new edition of All Things Must Pass was released to commemorate the album's 50th anniversary. The edition features demos of 30 tracks from the album's recording sessions, as well as some songs that didn't make the final cut. The work was executive produced by George's son, Dhani Harrison.
