A massive box set of the re-release of George Harrison 's All Things Must Pass has just been confirmed by the musician's family. It will be released on August 6th, but is already available for pre-order here.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the release of the singer's first post- Beatles , the work will receive a complete remix of the original tapes, supervised by Harrison's son, Dhani . The mixing is by Paul Hicks , who also worked on John Lennon 's Gimme Some Truth The album's title track had already been released previously – listen here.
The "uber deluxe" edition will include eight vinyl records, five CDs, and an audio-only Blu-ray, all packaged in a beautiful wooden box. This version will be on sale for £859.99 (approximately R$ 4,500) and will also feature the original album, 47 demos, rare tracks, and two books: a 96-page scrapbook by Harrison's widow, Olivia , and another 44-page book with interviews and notes from his personal archive.
In addition to all that, the box also comes with an oak bookmark made from a tree at Friar Park, the mansion the musician bought in 1970, a miniature of Harrison, and a copy of the book Light from the Great Ones by the Hindu guru Paramahansa Yogananda.
The re-release also has more modest versions for those who want them, such as kits with the vinyl records and the CD, and others with the addition of one of the books. Click here to check out the options. The two-CD kit, for example, is £16.99 (approximately R$120).
