George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher , vocalist of Cannibal Corpse , doesn't seem like someone who is easily shocked by brutal themes, but he described the stance of some religious people as "heinous" after witnessing a protest at the band's show.
Knotfest channel , the singer commented on religious protests outside events: “They stay on the other side of the street, just protesting about how we're going to hell – not us, but young people in general,” he said. “I look at them and think, 'Okay, they're not attacking anyone or breaking anything, that's good, but they say such heinous and unpleasant things.'”

Fisher expressed surprise at the discourse of people who supposedly attend churches and believe in Jesus Christ. “[They talk] about love, love, love, but they say 'You're going to hell, you piece of satanic trash'? I thought you would talk to people,” he continued. “I have no religion, but I fully support anyone's right to practice their religion, (…) if someone comes to my door with a pamphlet, I'll accept it and sometimes talk to them.”
The topic arose after Corpsegrinder commented on the challenges of being a member of a death metal band in the era of cancel culture . "If you don't like it, leave. Don't try to cancel us," he said .
