Lead singer says he's happy with this new phase
Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate has announced that his new band will be called Operation: Mindcrime, in homage to the album he released with his former group in 1988.
Tate commented that he is happy with this new phase: “With the band renamed, I think the fans will continue to enjoy the music we created and played together, and I hope they will share this new musical journey with us.”
With the dispute over the name “Queensrÿche” settled in April, Geoff Tate gained exclusive rights to perform and record the songs from “Operation: Mindcrime” and “Operation: Mindcrime II”. His former bandmates Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, and Scott Rockenfield, and new members Todd LaTorre and Parker Lundgren retained exclusive rights to the band's name.
