Genocidio releases tenth career album, 'Fort Conviction'

The 10-track album includes a cover of INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart".

The São Paulo-based death metal band Genocidio has released their tenth studio album. Titled Fort Conviction , the album features 10 tracks.

In addition to nine original songs, the project also includes a surprising interpretation of INXS ," transforming the song into a heavy and atmospheric version.

The release is through the Urubuz Records label on physical media and Wikimetal Music on digital.

The version for streaming platforms also includes another cover, "Pictures of You" by The Cure, as a bonus track.

The songwriting process for the album began in March 2020, with recordings starting only in March 2023. The drum recordings took place at Michel Oliveira's studio, and the guitar sessions were conducted by Murillo Leite as a production assistant in a home studio . The vocals were also recorded in a home studio, with assistance from Fábio Moysés and André Zanferrari.

The album's artwork was conceived by Wanderley Perna using AI (Artificial Intelligence), and the photos were taken by Luciano Piantonni.

Fort Conviction is now available on all platforms.
