Alive II tour Kiss 's opening act was a relatively new band that was on the rise at the time: AC/DC .

Recently, SiriusXM radio , Gene Simmons answered a fan's question stating that AC/DC was the best opening act for Kiss he had ever seen in his career. Now, in a conversation with Triple M , Gene gave details about his first conversation with Angus Young .

According to Simmons, AC/DC was playing at a small club in Los Angeles, and he made a point of watching the performance up close to the stage. “I was right up front, and even during the blackouts between songs, Angus kept moving around the stage – not posing, just feeling the moment, like he was in a trance or something.”

The founder of Kiss also recounted that he spoke with Angus after the show and noticed something unusual about the guitarist's appearance. "He smiled, and I'll never forget it: he didn't have his front teeth. I think back then they couldn't afford [dental treatment]."

After the performances, Gene Simmons took Angus Young to eat at a place called Mel's Diner , where Young ordered a frankfurter hot dog, which he ate "with the sides of his mouth" because of his missing teeth. "I can still remember most of the conversation. I told him, 'You guys are amazing. I'm going to make some calls. You're going on tour with us.'"
