Gene Simmons  KISS avatar show and promises to "surprise" the fans.

The technology used in the KISS holograms was developed by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and financed and produced by the Swedish company Pophouse Entertainment , the same company that developed the technology for ABBA 's Voyage in London, and will allow KISS to remain "on the road" during their retirement.

In an interview with Artists On Record Starring ADIKA Live! [transcription via  Blabbermouth ], the bassist commented on the avatars: “There’s a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes, and what I’ve seen will surprise you. So, in a very real way, our ending is really like the caterpillar transforming into a butterfly.”

Last December, Simmons said that " they are spending around USD 200 million " on the production of the avatars.

KISS will become the first American band to go fully virtual and host their own avatar show. According to BBC News , the KISS avatars will depict the band as superheroes nearly 2.5 meters tall, spitting fire and shooting electricity from their fingers, while floating above the audience.
