Gene Simmons says that Ace and Peter would be the downfall of Kiss.

The bassist compares the presence of both in the band to a cancer

Kiss founding members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction event should the band be confirmed.

“How many chances do you get in life? They both had three chances to be in the band, and all three times they wasted them. They were just as important as we were in forming the band, and they would have been the downfall of Kiss if they had stayed.”

Simmons compared their presence in the band to a cancer patient:

"If you have cancer, it's best to remove that part of your body as soon as possible. It was a part of your body that turned into cancer, so you have to cut it off."

The bassist concluded his statements by saying:

“I believe that both Ace and Peter are happier now. They are healthy and seem well. When they were in the band they were involved with drugs, crack or alcohol. Clearly it wasn't a healthy place for them. They're better off doing autograph sessions in clubs – they're happier.”
