Gene Simmons, bassist for KISS, officiated the wedding ceremony of Charlie Benante , drummer for Anthrax , and his longtime girlfriend Carla Harvey , former vocalist for Butcher Babies and current vocalist
for The Violent Hour.
The wedding took place last Sunday, the 12th, at The Secret Garden in Las Vegas, with over 200 guests in attendance, including members of Kiss, Pantera, Anthrax, The Violent Hour, Dream Theater, Nickelback, and Mötley Crüe .
The celebration featured an Elvis Presley impersonator, dancers, live music with a jam session featuring some of the guest musicians, and a vegan wedding cake. In a statement to People magazine Russ Meyer film with a rock and roll twist."
The groom gave more details about the wedding: “The initial idea was a small and intimate wedding. With just a few friends and family, but we knew we wouldn't be able to have a small wedding after other friends found out. We only want our closest friends and family gathered in a hall to celebrate.”
Bride Carla Harvey took care of every detail of the party, including the couple's first dance to U2 ." The song was chosen because of their engagement, when Benante proposed to Carla during a U2 concert at The Sphere in Las Vegas on January 27, 2024.
The band has no plans for a honeymoon due to commitments with their respective bands, as Benante explained:
"We're finishing up the second EP for Carla's band, The Violent Hour, and we'll be releasing an Anthrax album soon, so we'll get back to work right after the wedding."
