Gene Simmons , bassist and vocalist for KISS , is recovering at home after being involved in a car accident in Malibu, California. The incident occurred last Tuesday, October 7th.

The musician, who is 76 years old, reportedly told local police that he lost consciousness while driving on the Pacific Coast Highway. As a result, Simmons collided with a parked car. He was taken to a hospital where he received “further treatment” [ via Blabbermouth ].

Speaking to NBC4 Los Angeles Gene Simmons ' wife , Shannon Tweed , confirmed that the musician is already home and recovering. According to her, doctors had recently made changes to his medication and recommended that he increase his water intake, something that, according to her, "isn't exactly his favorite habit."

Gene Simmons spoke out on X (formerly Twitter) about the car accident.

In a post on the platform, he said: “Thank you all for the messages wishing me well. I’m completely fine. I had a minor accident. It happens. Especially for those of us who were terrible drivers. And that’s me. Everything is fine.”
