Gene Simmons reassures fans after feeling unwell at KISS concert in Brazil: "It wasn't anything serious."

The bassist suffered from the heat while performing in Manaus last Wednesday, the 12th.

Gene Simmons used social media to thank and reassure the public about the brief illness he experienced during the KISS at the Arena da Amazônia in Manaus on Wednesday night, April 12th.

The bassist felt unwell during the show and asked the stagehands for help to sit down for a moment. Following this, Paul Stanley announced that the band would take a short break from the performance so that Simmons could receive the necessary medical attention.

After a few minutes offstage, the band continued with the performance as normal. According to Gene Simmons, the discomfort was a result of the intense heat in the city. “Hi everyone, thanks for the well wishes. I’m fine. Yesterday, at the Manaus Stadium in Brazil, I felt weak due to dehydration. We stopped for about five minutes, I drank some water and everything was fine. Nothing serious. Tomorrow, [we’ll be at the] Bogotá Stadium. See you there,” he wrote.

In another post, Simmons reaffirmed that he was fine. “Okay, kids. It wasn’t a big deal. Thanks for your kind wishes. Last night (…) the humidity and temperature were through the roof. I was dehydrated and forced to sit down during a song. We got back on stage in 5 minutes and finished the show,” he explained to fans.

This was Simmons' band's first time in the capital of Amazonas. Now, the band is heading to four more shows in Brazil: Brasília (April 18th), Belo Horizonte (April 20th), São Paulo (April 22nd at Monsters of Rock), and Florianópolis (April 25th). Learn more here .
