Gene Simmons

Gene Simmons compares Kiss to a football team: "The players change, but the team stays the same."

The musician will come to Brazil in 2018.

Gene Simmons is celebrating 50 years of Rock and Roll with the sale of a limited edition box set .

The release includes 150 never-before-seen items, such as unreleased music and collectibles. Gene Simmons: The Vault Experience will be delivered to fans by the musician himself during 2018.

We at Wikimetal interviewed Simmons and he explained a bit about the box set:

“I decided to seek out 150 tracks that I wrote or played on during the last 50 years, from 1966 to 2016. None of these 150 songs have been released. This is the biggest box set ever. It includes three tracks I collaborated on with Bob Dylan, three with the Van Halen brothers, two tracks with Ace [Frehley] singing that were never released, and old Kiss tracks with Ace playing. There are literally ten CDs, 150 tracks (…) The box set also includes a 50,000-word book explaining the story behind each song and photos from my personal collection.”

Simmons also spoke about his vision of Kiss, saying, "I want to believe that Kiss raised the expectations of fans in terms of live shows ." He added that when the band formed, it was common for musicians to go on stage with just an acoustic guitar and perform in the simplest way possible.

When asked about the changes the band has undergone, the musician says that Kiss must stay alive even without the original members, "the team is more important than who is on the team, when you have new players, the team must continue".

Gene Simmons: The Vault Experience is on sale here and the meet and greet with the musician in Brazil will take place on May 19th and 20th, 2018.
