In a revealing conversation on the Tetragrammaton , hosted by Rick Rubin , Gene Simmons shared previously unreleased details from behind the scenes of the end of the KISS and spoke enthusiastically about the band's virtual future.

Speaking about the emotion of the last show [ with transcription via Blabbermouth ], Simmons admitted it was a moment of intense feelings. Pride and nostalgia mixed, mainly due to the absence of Ace Frehley and Peter Criss , original members who, according to him, were unable to follow the band's trajectory to the end. "They were essential in the beginning, and it's sad to see that they couldn't reap the rewards of what they helped build," he lamented.

KISS begins a new era with digital concerts and futuristic avatars

Despite the end of their live tours, KISS is far from over. The band already has ambitious plans to continue in the entertainment world, now in digital format. Inspired by the success of ABBA with hyper-realistic avatars, KISS has partnered with the Swedish company Pophouse Entertainment and the legendary Industrial Light & Magic, aiming to create a virtual version of their shows that promises to redefine the concept of musical performance.

Gene didn't hide his enthusiasm for the project: “The technology ABBA used is already obsolete. What we're developing goes beyond virtual reality. Imagine living a complete immersive experience, but without needing to wear glasses,” he said, hinting at a new level of sensory spectacle.

With the end of one era and the beginning of another, KISS proves once again its ability to reinvent itself. Even off the physical stage, the band continues to challenge the limits of what is possible in the entertainment world.
