Kiss bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons admitted he was wrong about the benefits of cannabis.
Gene Simmons , vocalist/bassist of Kiss , has always promoted a healthy and clean lifestyle and criticized drug users. In 2018, he made headlines by announcing that he would be part of a Canadian cannabis company, Invictus.
Simmons explained his relationship with marijuana, even though he had previously stated that he had never tried the herb in his life.
“Historically, I have to say I was completely wrong,” he said. “I thought marijuana was for dimwits and idiots. And, slowly, over the years, the amount of research I saw left me speechless. Seeing little girls suffering from epilepsy miraculously improving shocked me.”
He said the pharmaceutical industry doesn't like this idea, "because cannabis, in its various forms, actually helps people. That's what researchers are showing me. The marijuana space will be good for humanity. It's certainly better than cigarettes, which can give you cancer. Marijuana can give you the munchies. Let me see: either I get cancer or the munchies."
