During an interview on the Noize In The Attic with Greg Schmitt , Gene Simmons , bassist and co-founder of KISS , commented that he does not rule out the possibility of sharing the stage with former bandmates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss KISS Army: Storms Vegas event , scheduled to take place in November of this year in Las Vegas.
“Of course,” he replied when asked about the possibility of them appearing at the event. Despite the invitation still standing, he acknowledges the chances are slim. “I personally invited Ace and Peter to join us on stage at Madison Square Garden [for the final show of the farewell tour]. But they said no. 'I want this, I want that.' 'You can't have this, but join us to celebrate the beginning.'” The comment reflects a long, tumultuous relationship between the original members of KISS. Still, Simmons keeps the door open, even knowing it doesn't depend solely on him.
At another point, Schmitt highlighted that KISS is one of the few bands of its generation where all members are still alive and commented on the possibility of "taking advantage of that." "I like your way of thinking, but that's living in a dream world. Life doesn't work like that. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink," Simmons replied.
Gene Simmons promises that "KISS Army Storms Vegas" will not be a traditional show.
Scheduled to take place between November 14th and 16th at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, KISS Army Storms Vegas is an event made by and for the fans. The celebration marks the 50th anniversary of the KISS Army and will be the band's first appearance since the end of the End Of The Road in December 2023.
Despite the confirmed presence of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley , and Tommy Thayer , the event will not be a traditional concert. There will be no makeup, fireworks, or large stage productions. “We promised we’d never do this again. It’s not a concert. No tour. We’ll go up and play a few things, maybe. It’ll depend on who’s there,” explained Simmons in an interview with the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show . Former guitarist Bruce Kulick is also expected to participate, and there’s a possibility Simmons will bring his solo band for a guest appearance.
The program also includes Q&A sessions with Stanley, Simmons, and manager Doc McGhee , performances by tribute bands like Mr. Speed and Kiss Nation , a show by Black N' Blue (Thayer's former band), and a performance by ex-Skid Row member Sebastian Bach . “Other bands will be on stage and all that, but it’s a chance to be more intimate with the fans, actually, with our bosses. Because without them, I’d be asking, ‘Want some fries with that?’,” Simmons joked.
Tickets, packages, and more information can be found on the event's official website .
