Gel announced the end of its activities following a series of allegations against guitarist Anthony Webster .
The New Jersey hardcore band released an official statement on social media last Thursday, the 20th, describing the guitarist's "heinous acts" as causing "irreparable damage," making the band's continuation impossible.
According to the announcement, the guitarist stole tens of thousands of dollars: “He spent it on his own rent, personal food orders, and really anything he wanted, because for a long period of time, nobody had access to the bank account except him.
The band also reported that Anthony Webster “spent on a truly unbelievable amount of money on OnlyFans and posted nude images of band members on Reddit for the world to see.”.
“This has affected us as human beings more than we can even begin to explain, to the point where we are completely unable to continue with the band,” Gel stated in their press release.
Gel was scheduled to perform at Coachella in the coming weeks, in addition to shows with Spiritbox and Volbeat , but with the sudden split, the entire tour schedule was canceled.
