The tribute is similar to Hollywood's Walk of Fame
Geezer Butler, bassist and co-founder of Black Sabbath, will be honored in Birmingham.
The musician will receive a star on the Walk of Stars in his hometown on February 3rd during halftime of the Aston Villa vs. Burton FC match.
The date was chosen specifically to honor the work of Butler and his band, who performed in the city for the first time 50 years ago.
The Walk of Stars on Broad Street in Birmingham is a street with the same concept as Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame, bearing the names of artists who have made a significant contribution to some important field, from music, film, and literature to sports and business.
Butler is the third member of Black Sabbath to receive the honor. His bandmates Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi earned their stars on the Walk of Stars in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
