Geezer talks about Ward, Iommi and the new album

Bassist says new album will feature band members who are completely sober

In an interview with Guitar World, bassist Geezer Butler revealed that Black Sabbath's next album, scheduled for release in June, is the band's first to be recorded with all members completely sober.

Butler said, "This is much better than last time, when we were all completely crazy.".

Butler also spoke about Tony Iommi's illness, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. "Tony is the kind of guy who doesn't disappoint. He didn't let his illness affect the filming.".

Regarding Bill Ward, Butler said he would have loved to have him in the band, but didn't quite understand what happened. "I went to Hawaii to be with Tony during his treatment, and when I returned, Ward was no longer in the band.".

Ozzy Osbourne had also previously commented on the matter, saying that he doesn't interfere in management affairs, which are controlled by Sharon.
