Last weekend marked the premiere of the documentary Dio: Dreamers Never Die during the fourth day of the SXSW in Texas. As you can see Wikimetal 's coverage , the event included a Q&A session with Wendy Dio , Sebastian Bach , and Geezer Butler discussing heavy metal and the life of Ronnie James Dio .
During a pre-interview with host Damian Muziani – who was the last person to interview Dio after a show in 2009 – Butler was asked about his memories of the singer and mentioned the disagreement that led Dio to leave Black Sabbath.
“I was very happy that Ronnie and I made peace and the past is in the past,” Geezer commented. “At the end of the film, I felt very happy that we got together at Heaven & Hell and made amends. It was great.”
During the conference, Geezer Butler was also asked if he was relieved to learn that Dio was also a lyricist, since he and Ozzy Osbourne were responsible for Black Sabbath's lyrics. "Oh, yes. I thanked God for that," the bassist replied with a laugh.
