Geezer Butler meets members of the Backstreet Boys in Las Vegas.

On his social media, the Black Sabbath bassist joked about the moment

Black Sabbath 's original bassist , Geezer Butler , shared an unusual encounter with the members of the Backstreet Boys .

The event took place at the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, where the boy band is performing a residency show until the end of July.

Furthermore, the quintet is one of the main attractions at The Town 2025 , which takes place in September at the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo.

On his Instagram profile, the musician posed alongside Kevin Richardson , Nick Carter , Brian Littrell , and Howie Dorough .

In the caption, Butler joked that he "tested out" for the group, but that he still prefers the bass. He also praised the show.

"Thank you for letting me audition, but after much thought, I've decided to stick with the bass (just kidding). But it was a great show last night."

The quintet's official account also commented and thanked the Briton for attending the performance. Carter, however, commented that "they weren't worthy" of Geezer's presence.

In the comments, fans didn't miss the chance to make jokes and playful remarks about the encounter, such as "Blackstreet Boys," for example. And they mentioned that the photo came before the release of GTA VI.

Geezer Butler's wife also reacted to meeting the Backstreet Boys

On her Instagram, Gloria Butler reposted the photo and in the caption also joked that her husband hadn't been told to wear white.

"He didn't get the 'wear white' memo. Great night and great show," Gloria wrote.
